- An idyllic place at the entrance to the Geirangerfjord
Hellesylt Camping was opened to guests in 1982, and we have since expanded and tripled the number of pitches.
All our places are reserved for drop-in visitors.
As of 2020, we have about 100 pitches, and about 200 meters of the campsite has shoreline and pitches facing the fjord. We recently upgraded the sanitary system. We have our own marina.
The campsite is close to the city centre, yet sheltered and quiet. Approx. 100 meters to grocery stores. A bank, mail, café and restaurant are also nearby. Within walking distance you will also find a nice beach with a distinctive bathing house with diving tower. You will also find its own mighty waterfall that flows out right in the center.
Hellesylt has a majestic nature and is surrounded by high mountains and deep fjords. It is the perfect starting point for trips to the Geirangerfjord and Norangsdalen, among others. If you want to be active, there are good opportunities in the area for great hiking, cycling and kayaking. Good fishing opportunities.
The Geirangerfjord with its surrounding area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and in 2006 was named the best destination by the internationally known journal National Geographic.
Feel free to visit the Geirangerfjord from Hellesylt. Stay at Hellesylt Camping, park your car and take a guided ferry ride on the beautiful fjord. It is about 200 metres to the ferry port. Experience the tourist resort of Geiranger and take a later departure back to Hellesylt.
The campsite has its own sanitary facilities consisting of toilets and showers that have recently been upgraded. Laundry room with washing machine and dryer.
There are several good hiking opportunities nearby, whether you want to take a short walk in the surrounding area, or go longer hikes such as Slogen and Skåla
There are several grocery stores and restaurants within walking distance of the camping.
Hellesylt offers a pretty beach with its own bathhouse, dressing room and diving tower.
